Since 2014, RCI in Austria is running its own local deposit business, the online direct savings bank Renault Bank direkt. From the beginning on, the Renault Bank direkt brand has successfully adapted to the market and managed to optimize its products, processes and service quality leading to an excellent customer satisfaction.
Market leader in Austria and attracting more and more customers
This customer-centric approach and the established brand value led to the achievement of becoming the market leader for online savings in Austria. Last year, Renault Bank direkt already celebrated 2 major milestones – its 5-year-anniversary and reaching a total deposit volume of 1 billion euros.
A stable and attractive interest rate, combined with further developments in terms of IT solutions and relevant offers were key to continue the success throughout the year. The year 2020 began even stronger - as of February Renault Bank direkt counted more than 24,000 active customers and total deposits over 1.1 billion euros.
New mobile app with biometric-login
To further strengthen its digital approach, Renault Bank direkt released a new version of its mobile banking app in late 2019. This new application allows customers to log into their savings account by authenticating via Face-ID or Touch-ID. This feature combines customer comfort with highest security standards and was accepted very well by Renault Bank direkt customer base. It constitutes the perfect addition to Renault Bank direkt mobile App, which allows users to manage their savings from their mobile devices 24/7!

In order to reinforce its status as a modern online savings bank and to enrich its new clients’ customer journey, Renault Bank direct has launched an interactive tutorial video showing the account opening process. Available both in German and English language, this video tutorial gives visitors a quick and convenient overview on how to open a savings account.
