Przemyslaw MALYSZ

Financial Director
RCI Banque Germany
  • Przemyslaw, could you present us your career path at RCI Bank and Services?

I joined RCI Bank and Services 12 years ago and I had 4 jobs in 3 countries. In 2005, I started as chief accountant in Poland. In 2010, I became Financial Director of RCI Bank Poland. I was responsible for transformation of RCI Bank Poland, operating at that time on the basis of polish banking license, into the branch of RCI Bank and Services. In 2014 I had a pleasure to gain some experience in HQ in Controlling division. Since 2015, I am Financial Director of RCI Banque NL Deutschland which is the second biggest subsidiary of the group. I manage team of more than 30 people.

  • Could you present us your job today?

Position of Financial Director is typical support function, so my main responsibility is to support my colleagues in achieving our commercial goals and assuring that our subsidiary meets its financial objectives. It’s very general, but bearing in mind the importance of German branch for RCI Bank and Services, it is crucial. Apart from the standard tasks of financial director, what I found very interesting here in Germany and what I am happy to learn, is our deposit activity.

I encourage every employee to empower his or her professional mobility as RCI Bank and Services offers great opportunities.

  • Did you think of becoming Financial Director in Germany one day?
I did not necessarily think that I would have such a diverse career when I joined the company. I was encouraged by one of my managers in Poland to always express what I want do next. That’s what I did. I encourage every employee to empower his or her professional mobility as RCI Bank and Services offers great opportunities.
  • Do you have some advice for employee joining a new country?
First, you need to learn the local language: it’s a key prerequisite to a proper integration in a new country. Then, you need to build a strong relationship of trust with your team. You can’t do everything on your own and you need to rely on people. Moreover, challenge your team and help them to develop their skills. That’s a part of my job I like the most.
